The Office of Family Life Ministry of the Eparchy of Our Lady of Lebanon of Los Angeles supports the Eparchial Bishop in the following services, programs and resources:

 

1. Marriage

  • Marriage Preparation: Promote a strong understanding of the Christian Mystery of Matrimony as a sacred covenant through an adequate and mature marriage preparation program.

  • Marriage Enrichment: Promote communication skills, conflict resolution, and positive bonding for married and soon to be married couples. Offer marriage mentoring, coaching and consulting.

 

2. Family

  • Mission and Vocation: Strengthen the Maronite family, reinvigorate its holy mission and vocation, promote its role to transmit the true faith and Maronite heritage to its children and function as a school of virtues and a source of holy vocations. Offer parenting support.

  • Challenges: Support the Maronite family in its modern-life social and moral challenges, particularly regarding materialism, consumerism, relativism, sexual morality, ethics, personal and professional integrity, and family life transitions (loss of parent, separation, divorce).

  • Dignity of Life: Promote the dignity and respect of life from conception to natural death. Promote the church’s teaching on bio-ethical matters spanning from life creation to end of life.

3. Education & Support

  • Education: Provide materials for education and faith formation to promote and preserve the dignity of the Maronite family and the dignity of life, establish critical thinking and discernment, and deepen the family’s commitment to living the Christian faith and religious values in its daily life.

  • Parish Support: Support pastors to forge a new modern-life pastoral attitude toward family, establish committees to lead Family Life matters at the parish level, and with all other services, programs, and resources listed above.
